I would still try the oil in the spark plug holes trick anyway. We had a 93 civic that did that after sitting a week and once started it was fine and ran a few more years.

Even my GS300 did that on two cylinders after sitting a few weeks, once it started it showed perfect compression and burn zero oil still.

This sounds more like the starter pinion has ceased to be or you’ve found a spot where the ring-gear is stripped. For the latter, put it in gear and push it a foot and try again. For the former, pull the starter. It really doesn’t sound like it’s turning the engine.
